Hajj in Quran

“Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage – Hajj and Umrah, etc.), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.” (Quran: 2/128)

Verily! As-Safa and Al-Marwah (two mountains in Makkah) are of the Symbols of Allah. So it is not a sin on him who performs Hajj or Umrah (pilgrimage) of the House (the Kabah at Makkah) to perform the going (Tawaf) between them (As-Safa and Al-Marwah). And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allah is All-Recognizer, All-Knower. (Quran: 2/158)

And perform properly (i.e. all the ceremonies according to the ways of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.)), the Hajj and Umrah (i.e. the pilgrimage to Makkah) for Allah. (Quran: 2/196) Read the full story

When is Ramadan 2010?

Ramadan, the greatest religious observance in Islam, is an annual month of fasting. It is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Muslims consider this whole month as a blessed month. They fast during the days of this month and make special prayers at night. People also give more charity and do extra righteous deeds. Also, in this Holy Month, The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) received the first revelation of Al-Qur’an (in one of the last ten odd nights of Ramzan). Ramazan/Ramadhan is the month of celebration as well as the month of discipline and self-control.

What are the dates for Ramadan in 2010?

Answer:
Ramadan is expected to begin on or around August 12, 2010 and will finish on or around September 11, 2010.

Note:

The exact dates of Islamic holidays cannot be determined in advance, due to the nature of the Islamic lunar calendar. Estimates are based on expected visibility of the hilal (waxing crescent moon following a new moon) and may vary according to location.

Special things did our beloved Prophet Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallamsee
He made the heavenly flight
From Masjid-ul-Haram to Masjid-ul-Aqsa
On Al-Buraq, in the night.

Miraj un Nabi, Miraj un Nabi
